The biggest island of the Balearic Islands, namely Mallorca, offers everything one expects of an ideal residence in the South! A very delightful landscape in the inner of the island, marvellous, partly snowwhite beaches and deserted bays with crystal-clear water. Idyllic unspoiled state and the fashionable life of the yacht-harbours, golf courts and the capital Palma are nearby.
Also of great advantage: The excellent infrastructure of the island, the short flight times as well as the high flight frequency to all european airports.
Mallorca, a paradise, that provides opportunities for everyone: deserted bays, wide beaches- ideal for water sport and beach life, but also for peace and relaxation.

By the way: the overwhelming part of the 128 beaches of Mallorca are certified an excellent water quality, all the others are still marked with good. - Thanks to the early efforts of the Mallorcines according to environmental protection!

The capital of Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca, is a pulsating city, which is rich of culture and history. Here one can find a fully intact old part of the town with narrow streets and peaceful places, with a lot of cafes and restaurants as well as a great number of unique sights. For example the cathedrale `La Seu´, the castle `Castillo de Bellver´, numerous museums and a lot more.
This city has a special atmosphere in every season and with its exclusive shops invites for a prolonged shopping expedition.
Mallorca also is a dream for golfers. The southwest of the island alone at the moment provides eigth well-tended golf courts. More are planned. The `Golf Santa Ponsa´ for example a demanding course with long Fairways is the venue of the `Open de Baleares´.

The weather

The swimming season starts in May, when the water temperature approaches the 20 °C level. Beneath this level it does not fall again before November.

Winter instead is very mild and snowfalls only sometimes occur in the mountains.
Referring to landscape on Mallorca one has to differentiate between three zones. Beside the Tramuntana, which is only at few places traversed by streets, these are the central lowland plain -Es -Pla- and the chain of hills in the east -Serra de Levant-.
The coast presents itself very diversified in form: Wide curved beaches are as characteristic for the minicontinent in the Mediterranean Sea as fiord like bays and rock faces which slope steep into the sea.

The most beautiful and most pleasant time for a bathing holiday is late summer in September or October. Water is still very warm (27°C) and the beaches are no longer that overcrowded.
